Father Joe Mannath SDB (Salesians of Don Bosco), is the Director of Don Bosco Renewal Centre, Bangalore, an international institute of on-going formation for clergy and religious, a doctoral guide and UCG major research investigator in the University of Madras (India), as well as  an adjunct professor at the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago. He has lectured at the Salesian University (Rome), the University of Valencia (Spain), Fordham University (New York), Assumption College, Mino, Osaka (Japan), and at other centers around the world. Member of Mensa International, Indian Theological Association, former President of the Association of Christian Philosophers of India and of Salesian Psychological Association, India


Studies:
Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph. D. from Rome; research in theology and psychology at Oxford University; post-doctoral studies at Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Harvard University and Boston College; training in counseling and spiritual direction in India and Europe.


Experience:
Twenty years of formation work and teaching in major seminaries; twelve years of teaching and guiding research in the state University of Madras; Dean and Vice-Rector, Sacred Heart College, Poonamalle, Chennai; Rector, Salesian Provincial House, Chennai; President, Association of Christian Philosophers of India (1994-2000; President, Salesian Psychological Association (2004-2007), counseling and spiritual direction; addressing learned groups and religious leaders; parish ministry in different parts of the world. Languages known: English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Malayalam, Spanish and Tamil. His writings include the bestseller, You Surprised Me (US Edition: The Mystery of Me), A Closer Look and many articles.
